True North Counselling
Registered Psychotherapist
I currently provide individual, family, and couples therapy at University of Windsor's Student Counselling Centre as well as in my private practice, True North Counselling. I obtained a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Wayne State University and I have a certificate in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. I am currently an associate member with the Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. As a therapist who primarily treats relationship-related issues, I view things from a systemic perspective but I also find myself using techniques from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients learn how to live a fulfilling life and decrease their amount of daily stress. I do this by teaching them communication strategies, conflict-resolution skills, and coping skills to help manage difficult emotions. I also believe having a high self-esteem is something most people struggle achieving, so I enjoy helping clients recognize their worth by helping them align their life with their inner goals and values.
