Reflection Counselling Services
Therapist, EMDR Trained
I believe that we all have the capacity for happiness and that certain things get in the way of us achieving it. It might be past hurts, trauma, anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. It could be a sense that things are "good enough" just as they are, or even a fear of hoping for better. These hurt feelings and barriers weigh us down and prevent us from forming healthy relationships, engaging in fulfilling careers, or even identifying what we truly want out of life. Counselling can be an incredibly beneficial way to work towards the life you hope to live. I have a Masters in Social Work and have continued my education by learning about CBT, IFS, and EMDR. I work collaboratively with clients to determine which methods will best help them meet their counselling goals. My specialties include relationship issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictions. All of that technical jargon aside, the most important part of counselling is the relationship with your therapist. Since it is so important to find someone with whom you feel comfortable, I offer a free 30-minute consultation for you to determine if this would be a good fit.

Heather strongly believes that the decision to step forward and seek psychotherapy is a brave choice and an indication that you truly do know your worth. Heather Dodge is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Waterloo and is excited to be offering psychotherapy at Transformation Counselling. For the last several years Heather worked on completing her Master’s degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy where she learned about several psychotherapeutic modalities that enable her to be intuitive and integrative when working with clients. During her Master’s, Heather was privileged to work as a clinical counselling intern where she worked with clients who presented a wide range of mental health concerns: anxiety, depression, grief, loss, break-ups and divorces, trauma related to childhood, trauma related to events across the lifespan, border-line personality disorder, spiritual crisis, existential questions, emotional sensitivity and emotional burnout. Heather is actively accepting clients and her approach best suits older teens, adults, and older adults. During your initial session with Heather it is her goal to create a safe, calm, compassionate atmosphere for you to be heard. It is important to Heather that an open, honest therapeutic relationship is formed where you can feel comfortable exposing your truth and inner world. Psychotherapy can be a challenging process at times, as it may be the first time in a long time that you have journeyed deeper with your emotions, moods, and the origins of your behaviours. From Heather’s own personal journey with her mental wellness she has learned that feeling challenged can be positive, as it can indicate an opportunity for change. Heather’s approach is very positive, honest, strength-based, and affirming as it is her hope that psychotherapy can become an opportunity for you to be a witness to your own ability to change. In her spare time Heather can be found cooking up a storm for those she loves, creating in her studio, and spending time in nature whenever she can.

Registered Psychotherapist
Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my bio. My name is Alicia, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Certified Music Therapist. My life story and journey with my mental health led me to this beautiful career; I am a wounded healer and wear that badge proudly. In my work as a therapist, I am deeply honoured by the opportunity to partner with individuals as they experience healing and transformation in their lives. In the therapy space, whether virtual or in-person, I aim to cultivate an environment that is safe and non-judgemental. I acknowledge that we are two real human beings coming together, developing a therapeutic relationship, and that - ultimately - you are the expert on your life.  Areas of Focus: - Trauma, PTSD, and C-PTSD - Addiction - Anxiety - Depression - Self-esteem/self-worth - Co-occurring diagnoses (i.e., having more than one diagnosis/presenting concern). I am rooted in a holistic, relational, and trauma-informed approach to wellness, and firmly believe that our creativity is an outward expression of our inner world. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, addictions counselling, trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness techniques. I am also trained in music/creative arts therapy, which means I specialize in utilizing creative mediums as important and transformational tools in the therapy space (i.e., creating and listening to music, doing artwork, drama, movement, etc.). I typically implement a mix of talk therapy and creativity in sessions, depending on what is going to be best for your personal journey. I have a master’s degree in Music Therapy/Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT). I am truly looking forward to connecting with you.

Kate Harper, PhD, RP
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and specialize in working with professionals, therapists, executives, and healthcare specialists who have successful careers on paper but still feel unfulfilled in their personal and professional lives and in their relationships. You may feel stressed, exhausted, or like you are just going through the motions of your life. Moreover, the pandemic may have played a role in driving you to re-evaluate your priorities. Anxiety, depression, or feelings of overwhelm may be at play and you may feel like you want a safe space to assess how you got to where you are today. I will work with you to explore your current relationships, family of origin issues, and support you to work through grief, loss, anxiety, trauma (including vicarious trauma and moral injury), and depression. I encourage introspection, self-reflection, and the exploration of life-long and new patterns with the hope of making the present and the future more healthy, meaningful, and positive. Although my education and training are grounded in many schools of psychology, for example, cognitive/dialectical behavioural, mindfulness, trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and humanistic to name only a few, I specialize in Psychodynamic Therapy. This form of therapy explores the foundations of our emotional suffering. Self-reflection, self-exploration, and the relationship between therapist and client are pivotal in the process of change. The goal of this type of therapy is to decrease symptoms, but also leave the client able to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. More specifically, I specialize in Neuropsychotherapy and I am a clinical fellow in Neuropsychoanalysis. These are specialized forms of talk therapy where the client's thoughts and emotions are explored holistically in relation to the body. For example, grief, depression, and anxiety may alter our emotional states, but they also impact our physiological states. Thus, I work with clients from a holistic mind-body perspective so they can move toward more psychological balance and well-being, and bring long-term relief and meaning to their psychological suffering.
Dr. Billie-Rose Cameron MD VIDEO THERAPY
Billie-Rose MD Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is change-focused and positively-directional talk therapy. It can be difficult to heal on our own and it often helps to have a professional, in this case an MD., witness and help guide through the healing journey. Impacts from events usually happen in relationship and thus healing can be more effective in a therapeutic relationship. Being present with another is often what is needed to bring about change. Dr Billie-Rose Cameron has been trained in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to psychotherapy as well as Solution Focused Psychotherapy. She works from a belief that we are already complete and that impacts from life’s events have covered up our true self. With curiosity, compassion and courage, we can access our own solutions, values and strengths to do more of what works and allow for more compassion, peace, harmony and well-being in our lives.
Maria Geleynse MSW, RSW
the Delton Glebe Counselling Centre
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Life is an incredibly mixed bag. It’s all kinds of things – beauty, ugliness, joy, pain – thrown together in no particularly organized fashion, and it can be challenging to sort through, or to feel like we have enough space in our heads, hearts, and schedules to pay adequate attention to each piece of our own lives and the world around us that competes for our attention. Sometimes navigating it all can become overwhelming. Sometimes the struggles and the pain eclipse the good. Sometimes they hook us in and become barriers to living a rich, full, and meaningful life. As humans, we long for purpose, meaning, fulfillment, peace, well-being, and belonging, and those are not always easy things to find. I seek to provide a safe and compassionate space for people to open up, express themselves, and be listened to. I view counselling as a collaborative and relational process through which people can explore and discover things about themselves, acquire helpful strategies for positive change, learn new ways of thinking or understanding, or work towards healing. I have experience living, studying, and working internationally and inter-culturally, and have a deep appreciation for diversity, its beauty, and its challenges. As a therapist, I seek to practice from a place of cultural humility, recognizing that each and every person comes from his or her own tableau of experiences and relationships, and that each person experiences, understands, and copes in his or her own unique way. While you are the person who knows yourself best, there are also human commonalities, and there can be great comfort, strength, peace, and healing in the space where we allow others to walk alongside us. My primary approach to therapy is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My areas of special interest include: depression; anxiety; trauma; life transitions; cultural adjustment; and life purpose questions. I have also worked in refugee resettlement and have a particular interest in the impact of life transitions, loss, and migration/changes in place on identity and mental health.

She is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP), the evidence-based treatment for OCD, and uses her non-judgemental and compassionate approach to help individuals struggling with OCD challenge their fears and transform their relationship with their distressing thoughts. Jenna is also trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and integrates it with other evidence-based therapies to help clients struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns heal their relationship with food and their sense of self. As an experienced client herself, Jenna believes everyone can benefit from the insight and personal growth therapy brings and strives to offer this to her clients with her down-to-earth approach. Her goal as a therapist is to provide clients with a space to be truly understood and develop tools to better navigate their thoughts and emotions. Throughout the therapy process, she works collaboratively with her clients to set and achieve practical goals that are realistic for their lives right now. Jenna is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She completed both her Masters Degree in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology at Wilfrid Laurier University. She believes strongly in the importance of ongoing learning and currently facilitates a monthly study group for therapists in the Waterloo region and is an active member of the Waterloo-Wellington Eating Disorders Coalition. Jenna has been studying, working, and living in Waterloo for the past 12 years. In her downtime you can find her curled up with a good book, practicing her baking and calligraphy skills, exploring a local trail, or obsessing over her cute dog, Toby.
