Forouz Salari MA, MSW, RSW VIDEO THERAPY
Forouz Salari Online Counselling & Consulting
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Consultant
Individual counselling for women, queer, gender-diverse and trans folks (18-55) who are students, professionals &/or entrepreneurs in Ontario, Nova Scotia or Alberta, especially children of immigrants &/or people that immigrated during childhood or adolescence, who want to explore:
- the impacts of immigration on their identity, relationships and life choices
- their queer identity and connections to queer community
- their needs, boundaries, communication style and conflict resolution skills in personal and professional relationships
- the challenges of coping with and moving through a separation, divorce or significant breakup
- the challenges of living with ADHD
- the challenges of living with PCOS or other chronic illnesses
- their experiences of chronic stress or burnout (including vicarious trauma / ethical pain brought on by their work)
I am a white-passing, Middle-Eastern, bisexual, cis-gender, neurotypical woman and a first-generation immigrant and settler (who came to Canada as a refugee, during childhood). I’ve also lived through experiences of trauma, displacement, mental illness, divorce, chronic illness and chronic pain. So, I know what it’s like to feel lost, confused, doubtful, overwhelmed, frustrated, misunderstood, lonely, exhausted, and just not good enough! I know the effort and energy it takes to step into and embrace a journey of self-discovery, healing and growth, not knowing where it might lead. I also know how incredibly transformative it can be!
My passion is to support marginalized people in experiencing a sense of belonging and acceptance in a world / system that wasn’t built for them and doesn’t capture the intersections of their identities and lived experiences.
I work best with people who are committed to self-discovery and healing, as part of their ongoing personal growth and professional development.

Oakpath Therapy

We all struggle. Be it as individuals, couples, or families, we all sometimes need some help. For individuals, this may mean dealing with depression, anxiety, difficult circumstances/life transitions, or other emotional issues. For families, this may mean learning how to best support your child with a developmental disability or through their recovery following a traumatic event. Sometimes we just feel stuck and don't know why.
At Oakpath Therapy, we offer counselling for adults, children, and families as well as ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) and consulting services for children with Autism. With training in CBT, DBT, talk therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and play therapy for children, we are able to design a therapeutic program specifically for you and/or your family.
As a parent, you want the best for your child, so when they are suffering, you wish you could take the pain away. You do everything in your power, but sometimes you need some support. As an individual, you may be struggling with one or more issues that you'd like some help navigating. We are here and happy to help.
