Something's wrong; things may look fine on the surface, but a part of you is screaming for help. Maybe you know exactly what you want to address - issues at work, friction in relationships, or thoughts you want to stop, but can’t. Or maybe you've always felt this way, and don't know why. Maybe you've done all the "right" things: you've read the self-help books, tried CBT therapy, did meditation retreats, drank Ayahuasca in South America, and went to meetings or support groups. Maybe it all helped, but you can't shake the feeling that something's deeply wrong, something you can't explain, something that's hard to put into words. You just want to feel better. You want that feeling of hope back, that sense in your heart that everything's going to be OK. You want to stop looking for it externally - through a drink or a pill, a person, or a social media post. You want to stop feeling like you're defective. You want to feel whole again. I can help you. I know from experience that finding a therapist who makes you feel safe and knows how to address your specific issues can be challenging. I'd like to make that process easier with a free 15-minute conversation/consultation by video or phone. Please reach out and we'll explore the possibility of working together.

Christina Becker MBA, RP, Jungian Analyst
Open the Well of Self-Discovery
Psycho-Spiritual Psychotherapist and Jungian Analyst
The road to becoming a psychotherapist started with my own soul journey. As everyone who enters into therapy, my first experience of therapy was driven to find relief for suffering and emotional chaos. At midlife, my life felt empty and meaningless, and I needed to discover the parts of myself where there were life, joy and energy. The road took a different path as I went deeper and deeper into myself. This eventually took me to C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. I found meaning, purpose and fulfilment in exploring Jung’s ideas and experiences. Since then, I have devoted myself to my individuation journey and that of my clients. Training to be a Jungian Analyst was an amazing, exhaustive and intense experience. It was a special and unique kind of training that consisted of extensive post-graduate academic studies, and a rigorous and lengthy personal analysis. I cultivated a depth, compassion for suffering, and an authentic awareness for what is true. Upon completion, I was awarded a Diploma of Analytical Psychology – a PhD equivalent – and which gave me the designation of Jungian Analyst. I am devoted to my personal individuation journey and I bring that same devotion to working with my clients. I am passionate about working with people who feel that they are on a quest for something. I call it an ineffable mysterious something. They know that there is something more than the symptoms. They feel called to explore the deeper questions of human existence. My practice is conveniently located in Roncesvalles Village, in the west end of Toronto. I offer a range of psychotherapeutic and counselling services to meet most people’s needs. In addition to my Jungian training, I studied astrology at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London, England, and with Liz Greene through the Astrodeinst seminars in Zürich. I am a member of the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy and am actively completed my certification in this modality.

Coaching + Therapy for Entrepreneurs, Leaders and Creatives
Struggling to balance personal and professional aspirations, demands and challenges? Let's work together to clarify what's most important to you, then design your life and career to support it. Hitting the same roadblocks in life, relationships, career or business is frustrating. It's difficult to see that despite your best efforts to move forward, you're constantly back where you started. While coaching can offer a goal-oriented approach to getting what you want in life, sometimes it's not enough. If you find yourself circling back over the same issues, repeating the same relationships, encountering the same professional problems, a set of smart goals and a well-organized to-do list aren't likely to do the trick. Seeking therapy doesn't mean you are broken. Therapy makes room for your entire self to come into focus, not just your professional self. It eases the pressure to perform and allows you to slow down and become aware of yourself in new ways. I'll meet you where you're at, sometimes looking forward, sometimes looking back, and always helping you to develop solid roots anchored firmly in the present.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with over 15 years of experience, I am deeply committed to providing dedicated support to individuals and families navigating mental health challenges. Since 2018, my journey in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy has equipped me with a Somatic perspective, allowing me to explore the profound connection between trauma and the inherent wisdom within our bodies. My expertise spans various modalities, including Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, DBT, and parts work, all of which I employ through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens. A significant portion of my practice is devoted to serving the 2SILGBTQ+ communities, where I offer guidance on matters of gender and sexuality. I believe in delving into the complexities of our intersectional identities, stories, and oppressions, as they profoundly shape our experiences, joys, and challenges within ourselves and our relationships. Additionally, I provide invaluable support to families and caregivers navigating the intricate terrain of youth gender journeys, mental health and neurodivergent experiences. As a parent myself and decade of caregiver support I know that healing our selves allows us to show up for our kids in the ways they need. On a personal note, my own journey of recovery from mental health challenges deeply informs my client-centered, strength-based approach. I take pride in my identity as non-binary and queer, embracing neurodiversity in all its forms.

Alora Martin Downie Body-Centered Psychotherapy
Social Worker, Psychotherapist
I support individuals with challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma and abuse, substance use, relationship issues, connection and belonging, loss and grief, and stressful life changes. Through providing warm, experiential and compassionate support I aim to create a space that feels accepting, empowering and has lots of room for exploration. I emphasize a holistic approach and the importance of exploring the mind body connection in healing. All of my work is trauma informed and rooted in anti-oppression and intersectional feminism. My practice welcomes individuals of diverse gender identities, sexualities, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, ages, abilities, and lifestyles. I combine talk therapy and mindful awareness to explore your concerns and cultivate the change you seek. This may be through helping you calm your nervous system, awareness of tension/holding patterns, working with strong emotions and limiting beliefs, or to understand and trust your body's cues more fully. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma and painful or conflicted relationships with childhood caregivers. I am sex-positive and have experience supporting people with sexuality and intimacy and diverse relationship models. Contact me to set up a consultation to learn more about how I can help.

Experiencing relationship anxiety and trauma? We are relational beings and things that happen with people around us have a big impact on how we feel and act—even if it's something that happened a long time ago. These unprocessed events and trauma can make you feel stuck, which might show up as anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. In my therapy, I will help you understand why you feel, think, and behave the way you do and learn new skills so you can make the changes you want, to live a more authentic life.—Please note that my service is all online. I use the Person-Centred approach combined with Attachment and Trauma to work on depression, anxiety, relationships, childhood trauma, and identities. This means that I see you as a whole person including environmental factors. I also draw from modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family System, CBT, and Mindfulness-based Therapy. In my UX design job, I have helped improve governments' and organizations’ services for citizens. I have extensive experience working with underserved populations, such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrants, and people with disabilities. If you would like to start therapy with me, reach out to book a free 15-minute consultation. I currently don't have a sliding scale.

Have you encountered life transitions, self-esteem issues, symptoms of anxiety and depression, or are questions coming up about your past experiences and their impact on your daily life? If so, I would be happy to work together in a safe space, to find some answers. While therapy can be part of a holistic approach to wellness, it is also individualistic, and I believe that each client deserves support that will best suit their needs. Everyone has a unique story. Through empowering clients, I listen to their story, and help them develop healthier coping strategies and points of view. My years of teaching experience has reinforced my belief that everyone deserves to be heard and understood. Having made a career change myself, I am familiar with the feelings of uncertainty that come when we face life transitions and am passionate about supporting others through these changes. Seeking a therapist requires bravery and self awareness, I recognize that it's not always an easy thing to do, and I'm happy you're here.

I have always been a big advocate of jumping into action and finding ways to address problems through concrete, focused strategies. I also honour the important need to foster compassion, validation and understanding as a foundation with my clients before this occurs. I am available to help adults presenting with a broad array of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, relationships and life purpose. I also have a specialized focus of helping clients with chronic pain, chronic illness and disability. I am honoured to take part in the change process with anyone who is open to doing deep personal work. I am a former athlete who now experiences limited mobility due to chronic illness. This transformation has given me a better understanding of the experiences of others with a wide range of different abilities. It has also provided me with the tools and perspective to better help others who are encountering significant life changes or barriers to wellbeing. I know that there is sometimes a hesitation to seek help due to shame, uncertainty or sometimes procrastination. For some people they have been waiting their whole lives to take the first step to speak with a therapist and open up about their problems. I'm here to make the experience as natural and comfortable as possible. Don't hesitate to reach out!
