Child, Adolescent and Family Thearpist
Our work as parents and caregivers never really ends, and often takes us on journeys we never anticipated.
If you're here, perhaps getting here was one of those journeys.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I've been working with children, adolescents and their families as they navigate challenging situations for over 10 years. My approach is family-centered, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed, with a sprinkle of creativity and silliness on the side. After all, play is the natural language for kids and teens, and frankly, adults need more of that too!
So even amidst the challenges, remember that there is also the journey of re-remembering yours and your child’s unique strengths and resources, and the healing and growth that comes from that. The journey is yours and I'd be privileged to walk that journey with you.
At Kairos, we believe in Wellness for All and are committed to providing culturallly relevant, Accessible and Affordable counselling. We believe that everyone deserves a Safe Space to be themselves, and to re-discover their own unique path towards health, healing and growth.
We believe that a good fit is important, and encourage you to connect with us for free consultation.

Clinical Social Worker, Therapist
Hello and welcome! It is wonderful to know you are seeking a path to your own healing and growth. Regardless of how challenging, overwhelming and difficult life can feel; you are not alone. Simply finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming which is why we at KST counseling, strive to provide a warm and empathic approach. We have been supporting children, teens and families find ways to cope with anxiety, depression and resolve conflict for years. We have come learn that between the comfortable familiar and the discomfort of the unfamiliar, exists potential for change. With the right relationship and trust, this can be you.
I am a white passing Latin X woman and my parents immigrated here from Guatemala. It has been my privilege to have spent most of my time working with racialized communities and witnessing the power each individual holds to heal and overcome challenges. My work has focused on addressing mental health needs of children, teens and families. Areas of focus have been depression, social issues, anxiety, trauma, and issues self-worth. My approach is grounded in a holistic and trauma informed lens, with the belief that you have the innate ability and knowledge to move through challenges and grow in a supportive space.
This process is a partnership that can only be successful in a warm, safe and slightly playful space. Although serious topics are discussed, humour is also helpful. I would be honoured to join you on your path to healing, ease and confidence so you can feel fulfilled and inspired. Free consultations are available, looking forward to speaking to you.

Mental health is just like physical health- everything seems fine, you are managing, and suddenly, in the blink of an eye, you feel pain. You can’t stand the pain. It’s as if you are tortured by recurring thoughts, noise, and background clutter in your mind. It feels like a pressure weighing on your chest and humming in your mind. You wonder if there is a way to ease the weight. You wonder if you will get back to a state of calm where you can begin to take steps toward healing. You think, how do I move forward?
Save yourself from feeling out of control!

Understanding the source of the issue is not the same as healing the wound of the traumatic experience. Hurt emotions and reactive triggers need to be nurtured back to health and vitality. By getting to know our triggers from a place of self-compassion and curiosity we can help them be seen and heal, becoming a force for good within our inner emotional world.
I practice Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with individuals and couples. These modality are non-pathologizing, supportive therapy modalities. They are based on the premise of releasing the emotional burdens that get in the way of good interpersonal and intra personal relationships. As Sue Johnson the originator of EFT said:
When people feel loved they become freer and more powerful than they ever thought possible.
