Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Tara McRae (she/her) is a MSW RSW Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist. She works with young adults experiencing the weight of anxiety in a pursuit driven world, couples looking to rebuild connection and the neurodiverse who have struggled to find the right therapeutic service. Young adults come to Tara because they feel so anxious that it keeps them up at night. Not knowing where they are going is enough to keep them from leaving the house. They push through, but they are often filled with a sense of dread. They have a pit in their stomach and tightness in their chest. They worry that they are not doing enough or that they are failing at work or school. They feel overwhelmed and even panicked. They worry about the mistakes they will make. They avoid spending time with friends because they worry about saying or doing the wrong thing. Couples see Tara because they are feeling tired of having the same conflicts again and again. They feel lost and as though they are at an impasse. They feel the trust is broken and totally disconnected. They don’t know how to fix things. Neurodiverse adults come to see Tara because they are frustrated that they have not been able to find a therapeutic service that will adapt to their needs. Their disability may be being noted but their other mental health needs and life concerns are being overlooked.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you may not be entirely sure what you're looking for yet, and that’s okay. I’m here to offer a supportive space where you can explore what’s on your mind, gain clarity, and connect more deeply with yourself and others. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating a life change, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, we’ll work together to focus on what matters most to you. In my practice I work with adult clients (18+) navigating a diverse range of concerns, including relational and interpersonal challenges, anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief, loss, self-image, and authenticity. I have a growing interest in reproductive health and supporting individuals as they navigate the complex emotional experiences connected to reproductive decision-making, fertility, pregnancy, loss, and postpartum adjustment. I approach this work with sensitivity, compassion, and a deep respect for client agency and emotional validation throughout these deeply personal journeys. I recognize that what initially brings someone to therapy may not be what sustains the work overtime. As challenges evolve and our focus shifts, I remain committed to supporting you in a way that feels authentic and responsive to your needs.
