Registered Psychotherapist
Are you ready for some change in your life? Tried various things to feel better but didn’t end up feeling better? Don't feel you can do this on your own anymore? There is something you can do! There is help!
Hello, my name is Lisa Bennett. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the province of Ontario. I have been a therapist practicing psychotherapy for the past six years.
The therapies that I use in sessions with you involve 1) Emotion-Focused therapy that helps you identify, express, regulate, make sense of and transform emotion, 2) Mindfulness Cognitive-Behavioural therapy that helps you observe and reflect on thoughts and feelings without judgment, and 3) Dialectical Behaviour therapy that helps you accept your situation and improve your emotional regulation through problem-solving strategies.
My goal in therapy is to engage in a collaborative therapeutic relationship that is focused on what you need from therapy. I see you as the expert of yourself and I work with you to facilitate a process of discovery, finding out what it is you need and then using my expertise to help you work towards meeting some of the needs in your life.
We will work together to understand how your life is functioning at present, how you would like your life to be functioning differently, and then work towards making changes in your life with the goal of improved functioning. Essentially, my aim in therapy is for you to feel better than you feel now.
If you are ready for some change in your life, and okay that it will lead to discomfort for awhile, then I invite you to contact me today.

Establishing an environment where clients feel safe to share their story is of paramount importance. My approach to therapy is from a trauma-informed lens, a person-centered approach, and by utilizing evidence based modalities. I have experience journeying with clients from diverse backgrounds and with those who have experienced trauma, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, racial trauma, family conflict, and with patients and their families in an in-patient setting. I am an integrationist, because I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all approach.
