Hello! Welcome! I have prioritized client-centered and strength-based practice in my role as a social worker/psychotherapist. To me this means being able to provide guidance, supports and services according to my clients self-expressed needs and/or challenges. It also means that I operate under the belief and understanding that all of my clients intrinsically possess the strength and resilience to cope with whatever barriers they are facing. I am simply a guide or support along the way. Some examples of difficulties I can help with are: Anxiety (ex. social anxiety, phobias, obsessions/compulsions) Attention difficulties (ex. AD(H)D) Learning disabilities/differences Eating Disorders (ex. body image anxiety, self-love advocacy) Mood/emotional difficulties, emotional regulation (ex. behavioural, anger, depression) Social difficulties (ex. bullying, social anxiety, family related stressors) Divorce/Separation (ex. reparation, reconciliation and/or transition therapy for child/parent, couples and/or families) Grief or Loss Relationship difficulties (ex. couples, families, etc.) Trauma (ex. trauma symptoms, navigating past traumatic events)

There are times in everyone's life when events or experiences overwhelm our ability to cope, and we turn to those around us for support. Sometimes, though, seeking professional assistance is the best option. Psychotherapy can provide meaningful support during times of stress and struggle, helping you to take care of yourself effectively and to start feeling better. As a Social Worker, I take a client-centered approach to psychotherapy. My job is to listen to you with empathy and respect and strive to understand your frame of reference, values, and aspirations. I will also act as witness to your strengths and struggles, learn what you want and need from therapy, and support you to work toward your goals. You can come to me with anything that is affecting your well-being or overwhelming your ability to cope. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit, though. Many people come to therapy to better understand their thoughts, feelings, and reactions. Others use the space to explore what they want from life, or to strengthen important relationships. Psychotherapy can be a refuge from a world that moves too quickly and stretches our time and attention thin. It can be a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with priorities, desires and dreams. It can be an opportunity to focus on you, and to do the work that will allow you to love, work and play better.

It is hard to confront our wounds and to feel the pain of being a human being. Making the decision to take that step and go to therapy, is nothing but courage. What we do is working collaboratively with you to help you reach your goals. To do so, we use different modalities (please see below).

I believe that caregivers experience times of disconnection from their own wisdom as a result how they were parented, and how our parents were parented. This disconnection is in part a result of our North American society’s avoidance of emotions, ‘hustle culture’ and ‘more is better’ hidden messages. I know that caregivers can rediscover their own parenting wisdom, I have seen it and lived it. I can help you reconnect as a caregiver to your child. With 30 years experience walking beside children, youth, young adults and caregivers I am committed to evolve my practice and provide neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, emotion-focused therapeutic supports. I offer advanced skill building for caregivers, to support your child's well-being (at any age) using Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Caregiving is hard at times and EFFT is as close to a manual as it can get! Let me guide the way.

I am a Registered Social Worker helping youth (12+) and adult women with a range of mental health issues. This could include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, and self esteem. I work to help people take control over their emotions, understand how past experiences impact them today, and deeper their connection to themselves. As a woman who identifies as both Mohawk and Canadian, I welcome clients seeking a therapist with an understanding of Indigenous culture and intergenerational trauma. I work with each client to balance their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well being. I have a laid-back, gentle therapy style and work in collaboration with my client's strengths.

Hi, want to talk about how you're doing? How are your relationships, do you feel genuinely connected to the people in your life? Is there something you're sitting with that you've thought about countless times but can't seem to shift your thinking about? Would it help to have someone to look at it with, someone who's curious about your perspective and sees it from a slightly different angle? It can be scary to imagine unpacking and examining how we relate to others and ourselves: it often involves exploring where we've been in order to understand where we are and where we're headed. I'm here to accompany you on that journey, if you feel that it could be less intimidating with someone by your side. I'm trained in Relational Psychotherapy, a modality that seeks to help people to understand themselves in relationship with others; past, present and future. With an additional background in Comparative Literature, I often find it helpful to carefully examine the stories we have been telling ourselves about the journey so far. Does your story always make sense to you? These questions might have sparked some interest in you, and this is an invitation to pursue that interest. I offer no-charge Initial Consultations, because I think it's a good idea to talk a bit with someone before you decide if you can travel any real distance together. I wonder what we'll discover?
