Dancing Spirit Psychotherapy
AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, Couple/Relationship Therapist
Supporting people to thrive in their intimate lives is one of my passions. I offer counselling services to people struggling with concerns related to sexuality and relationships, and those seeking to overcome the impact of past traumatic experiences. I welcome individuals and couples, as well as folks in unconventional and/or non-traditional relationships. My style is client-centred (meaning that therapy is primarily designed based on your identified goals), and emphasizes principles of sexual health that include consensual, non-exploitative, safe, honest, and pleasurable experiences that are aligned with your values. My approach is integrative, intuitive, and informed. With compassionate curiosity, I strive to help uncover and transform the obstacles that get in the way of growth, healing, and connection. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for support. This is one of the things I admire most about my clients. I provide a respectful and affirming space with regard to gender, sexual orientation, erotic, romantic, relational, and spiritual diversity. Whatever brings you to therapy, I aspire to provide you a space to explore your heart and mind, heal from painful past experiences, and move beyond perceived limitations toward a greater sense of wholeness and possibility.

Is something stirring inside you? A desire for healing, clarity, or change? If so, welcome! There are many paths to better understand ourselves and our lives. Together, we can work to deepen that understanding, nurture our inner-strength, and find new ways forward. It's quite common to feel worried, stuck, lost or confused. Or maybe you feel sad, lonely, or weighed down by stress. Perhaps you’re struggling with a difficult relationship or facing a big transition. Being human sure is hard at times. Therapy can be a space to better understand yourself, make sense of your experiences, and move forward with more clarity and self-trust. I may be a good fit if: (1) you need a safe, non-judgmental space to explore parts of your life; (2) you want to get to the deeper meaning behind your thoughts, emotions, and actions; (3) you want to develop self-compassion, and a kinder relationship with yourself; (4) you would like to better understand what holds you back, and find some new ways forward. I strive to offer a supportive, affirming space for people from all walks of life. My work is trauma-informed, and I bring both personal and professional awareness to supporting 2SLGBTQI+ individuals. In our sessions, I hope you feel heard, respected, and free to be yourself. If this resonates, I invite you to reach out and explore next steps.

I know reaching out for help can be scary, and I am here to alleviate that potential fear. As a therapist, my main priority is to provide you with a safe space that is welcoming while we work collaboratively on the issues you are experiencing. Therapy is different for each person and my therapeutic approach will provide a unique experience tailored to you and for you. In sessions we will explore your thought patterns, emotions and maladaptive behaviours and learn tools and techniques that will help you live a more meaningful, stable life. Through our work together we will discover your strengths and learn how to implement them to solve problems in your everyday life. I have five years of experience working with those in the local sexual assault community. I am currently accepting new clients. Please call or email me to book your appointment!
