Hello! My name is Elizabeth (she/her) and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I am a Black Canadian (born in Kenya) and live on Treaty 7 land in Calgary. I do online therapy with children, teens, and adults across Alberta. I know you feel unheard, tired, afraid, angry, or hopeless. I am passionate about supporting people struggling with anxiety, depression, discrimination, and trauma. I will form a respectful and collaborative relationship as an equal so we can work toward the changes you want. You can move forward, release blame and shame, and feel a greater sense of self worth and control. I care, accept, and value each person I work with and strive to create an environment where you are comfortable and safe to be whoever you are, wherever you are, in your journey. As an immigrant parent, I am culturally sensitive and eager to continue serving marginalized, immigrant, refugee, and black communities to recover from past and present immigration and racial traumas. I offer therapy in both English and Kiswahili. I have worked in community mental health, school mental health, and cultural programs to support the healing of individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. When you can identify and accept your experience and connect with your body, you can learn to cope, better respond to triggers, and control your thoughts, emotions, and actions. You will feel empowered, able, and renewed toward wellness and recovery.
