Reslilience Counselling and Consulting
Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Frustrated with trying to change things by yourself or by your lack of progress in talk therapy? You're in the right place! I can help you achieve deep healing and build resilience, so you can bounce back from whatever life throws at you. I am an EMDR trained therapist and I specialize in treating trauma and anxiety. I offer in person and online counselling in Calgary & across Alberta.
Together we can unpack that heavy load you’ve been carrying alone for too long. We’ll reconnect with your innate resilience and find really practical ways to grow your sense of “I got this” in a way that fits uniquely for you. We’ll make friends with those big emotions and those parts of you that you that you’ve hidden away or don’t much like. We’ll learn to connect with them with kindness and self-compassion. We’ll process those painful experiences and beliefs that are holding you back from living the life you really want to live.
You’re going to walk away from therapy feeling lighter, like the weight of that old stuff has lifted. You’ll no longer be stuck on that emotional rollercoaster and you’ll have some welcome space from those constant companions, anxiety and depression. You’ll discover hot to feel better about yourself and your relationships. And most of all, you’ll have confidence that you too can bounce back from whatever life throws at you!

It’s painful to realize that you would never speak to a friend the way you speak to and about yourself. You've tried self-help books, and maybe you've even tried therapy before but it felt like something was missing. All you want is to have small moments of joy uninterrupted by negative thoughts, to be able to regulate your nervous system from difficult emotions without causing chaos for yourself or your loved ones, and to rediscover life the way it was meant to be lived - vibrantly, steadily, and with unwavering self-acceptance.
Hi, I'm Mandy, and I'm so glad we've found each other. I take a holistic approach to therapy, offering a peripheral view of your unique challenges and experiences in respect to your personal needs and values. Maybe what has been missing from your healing journey is the awareness of and willingness to step out of your mind and into your body. By integrating science-backed techniques, including breathwork, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness strategies in a way that compliments what comes to light in talk therapy, together, we'll uproot the self-limiting patterns that hold you back, that make you doubt your worth, or that makes the world feel like an unsafe place.
I love taking a collaborative approach with my clients, working together to reignite the light within you. Get ready to be seen, heard, and uplifted through my strength-based approach to therapy. Your unique strengths and qualities are your birthright, an innate inner-resource that shines bright, helping you see through the dark moments. As for me, I'm here as your co-pilot, walking alongside you, as you pave the way to your most authentic and joy-FULL life.
Your journey to healing and self-discovery starts here. Book your free consultation today - let's begin.

You are open to exploring better ways of showing up for yourself and others in your life who you care about. You may be experiencing some challenges such as grief and loss, bereavement, depression, anxiety, or doubts about strengthening your abilities in order to move forward in your life. At any major crossroads, you are often forced to reevaluate who you are in the present moment, or who you would like to be in the future.
Having an ally with skill, resourcefulness and empathy by your side makes challenges bearable, and often makes it possible to move through and beyond these difficult times. Sometimes, it is about accepting where you are, looking at how you got there, and really examining the patterns of behaviour, thinking, and beliefs that exist as defaults for you.
I am here to fully support, and also, fully challenge you when needed. Counselling works best when approached from a collaborative and passionate stance, with a core belief in people's abilities and resilience. Let's work together to make positive changes. Groups, individual, and couple/family sessions available. I look forward to connecting with you!

You might look like you’re managing on the outside while carrying a lot beneath the surface. Anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, eating/body image struggles, or family stress can quietly shape how you move through the world and relate to yourself and others. It can be hard to feel grounded or at ease when so much is being held inside. Therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and begin creating meaningful, lasting change. You’ll be met with someone grounded, warm, and present—ready to sit with whatever you bring.
I work with adults, adolescents, and families in a warm, collaborative space where we explore patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and support healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I utilize approaches like Accelerated Resolution Therapy and EMDR.

I am passionate about working with children, teens, young adults, and the young at heart! My ideal clients are those seeking growth, change, or a place to explore and become familiar with vulnerability. I strive to provide an atmosphere that can accommodate the up-close and conscious work, as well as the meaning-making from a safe distance work.
My education and specified training is in working with children and youth, supporting their needs through a developmentally appropriate perspective. My warm and playful approach to practice also lends itself well in working with adult populations-- gentle curiosity, commitment to a goal, flexibility to shift direction, and the safety to explore.
Balance is something I value to my core. Therapy is often hard work. I believe it is important to celebrate the victories throughout the process, not only at the end. I also recognize the importance of play, both in the work and outside of it. Growth and change takes courage, as well as balance. Together we can work toward defining your balance.

I am constantly amazed at the resilience we all show, as we navigate our lives amidst the challenges that invariably arise! Sometimes the demands on us outweigh the resources we have available in that moment. It takes a courageous person to recognize the need for, and to request and accept, support. I am honoured every time clients invite me to join them along their journeys toward improved insight, skill, interaction, and overall living. I explore change on individual and systemic bases – both approaches are often beneficial. As a former police officer, and a mother to 3 children with some exceptional needs, I understand how tough life can get…and how we can find the “tough” within ourselves to “get going” and prevail! I would be thrilled to work with you, your family, and your systems. Raise the bar and raise the roof!
I have worked extensively with children, youth, parents, adults, and families, and the challenges associated with:
Anxiety
Depression
ADHD
Learning Disabilities (offering comprehensive psycho-educational assessment: cognitive, academic, and social/emotional/behavioural profiles)
Family Dynamics (including Family Restructuring Therapy)
Tourette’s Syndrome and Tic Disorders (offering Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics – CBIT)
Substance Use and Addiction
Trauma (including in first-responder clients)
School Support (including connecting with school personnel to ensure students are well-equipped to succeed in their given school settings)

I was born and raised in Ukraine and came to Canada nearly 20 years ago, first as an exchange student searching for new experiences and a sense of belonging. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary and integrate evidence-based approaches, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma and PTSD, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, Internal Family Systems–informed tools (IFS), and cognitive and behavioural strategies, tailoring my work to support each client’s healing, growth, and resilience. My practice is shaped by my experience supporting individuals with trauma, intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, and those from immigrant and culturally diverse backgrounds.
Outside of my private practice, I work with Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta as a psychotherapist in a community mental health and addictions clinic.
I provide therapy in both English and Ukrainian, offering a space where clients can communicate in the language that feels most natural and authentic to them.
