About
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” This famous quote from Maya Angelou describes therapy in a nutshell. With support, you can make big changes in your life. And even when you can’t, your life can still get significantly better. My clients often come to me with daily struggles, low self-esteem, or relationship (and couples) issues. They are sometimes dealing with cultural or racial oppression. Through my experience and training, I help people overcome or deal differently with these problems. My clients are able to learn new skills and new ways of looking at the world.
I am a solutions-focused therapist, which means I provide practical strategies. I offer treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as motivational interviewing. These strategies help you understand your own thoughts and values. I also teach DBT skills, which can help you deal with just about anything that might come at you in life.
I offer secure and convenient telehealth sessions. We’ll start by getting to know each other. I want to know you and where you’re coming from. Then we’ll set short-term goals to help you meet the big ones, like how you want to feel or where you want to be in your life. I’d be honored to be your witness and guide. Contact me today to schedule a consultation.
