James is a skilled and experienced psychotherapist, who has been helping people improve their mental wellness since 2006. James received a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from McMaster University, and a Master of Divinity (Counselling) from Tyndale Seminary. He is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT), and a Certified Couple and Family Therapist with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
James is collaborative, authentic, easy to talk to, and client-focused; every counselling experience is unique and tailored specifically to his clients' needs. He values a creative and integrative approach to his practice which is primarily influenced by Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
James has specific training and special interest in working with Couples around their relationship goals; if you're looking to reconnect, rekindle, or rebuild with your intimate partner, James would love to work with you! James also enjoys working with individuals to help them reach their mental wellness goals; he has specific experience with issues related to mood and anxiety disorders, stress management, shame and self-worth, grief and loss, interpersonal concerns, and addictions.
