About
I have been devoted for 37 years to the Helping Profession both in Canada and overseas. This valuable experience has given me an ability to understand the human condition with its suffering and emotional pain. Like many others I too have personally experienced human emotional trauma at a very deep level. Now as a trauma survivor, I understand mental illness and its effects acutely. As a clinician, I am able to use my communication skills, training, life experience, and multicultural training in helping individuals realize and discover the pathways to their own emotional wellbeing. Through my awareness of, and practiced intuition of others and their needs, I have special skills in therapy. My educational background has enabled me to be contemporary with the best therapeutic models, suiting those applied to the context and realities of the client.
I am extremely passionate about people, life and living, and this comes to the fore as I help the victims of trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, phobias, domestic abuse, and those with relational or even spiritual struggles, reach a place of emotional health. As a life-long student with a diverse educational portfolio, I am dedicated to the best ongoing research and study concerning human suffering, and how they can better achieve wellness. My concern spreads to helping people achieve; a strong inner being, coping skills, kind, loving, empathic relationships, moving towards emotional care.
I practice counselling models that are introduced in context to the person and the situation at hand. I believe that the client is the expert of their condition, and that the clinician is the guide to emotional health. I practice a partnership approach with each client.
As a Therapist, I strongly believe in the power of relationships, that they can be uplifting, caring and compassionate. With this he brings to therapy a strong values approach that integrates; curiosity, personal integrity, respect, non-judgment, trust, confidentiality, compassion & empathy, listening skills, and sensitivity. I further believe that each of us are a sacred composite of mind, body, soul, and spirit, which involves a healthy integration of all in the aspects for healing.
It is my belief that humans can achieve well-chosen and realistic wellness goals no matter the current conditions, with the guided help of an expert clinician. I also believe that as humans we are uniquely complex with an individual story, each who need to be cared for, and treated respectfully, not simplistically. It is also my belief and experience that emotional wholeness is within the reach of all of us as we are guided and helped by a trained psychotherapist.
I have a special interests in Attachment Theory, Trauma and it’s effects on the mind & body, and Multi-Cultural therapy.
