About
David was born and raised in Hong Kong, and spent his adolescent years in Victoria, Canada. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker in British Columbia. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (with specialization in child welfare and health information science) from University of Victoria and have since obtained two Master’s degrees — one from the University of British Columbia in Social Work and the other from Lancaster University in Health Research (Mental Health). He has wide range of clinical practice and research experience in health care social work and counselling. He provides advanced clinical and consultative counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups to help resolve mental health issues, as well as marriage and family dynamics issues. He has strong critical analysis and problem solving skills and can conduct sessions in English and different Chinese dialects. He provides comprehensive and consultative counselling services to clients and families within the context of family centered care model. He is skillful in dealing with people from diverse backgrounds and bring an unique blend of services to my practice due to my knowledge and experience in both Social Work and Clinical Counselling, and able to discern the needs of clients and support them holistically.
