About
My approach is relationship-based and client centred. I believe that each of us has the capacity to feel great, but that often, different kinds of stressors impact our well-being. My approach is to help clients to discover what is getting in their way of absolutely thriving, to co-regulate and create a sense of safety and engagement, and to (together with the client) develop individualized ways of reducing tension and restoring energy. For adults and youth, that involves embodied talk therapy, and for children, play-based therapy designed to build functional emotional developmental capacities - the foundation of our stress response systems. Specialties: Children with developmental needs -DIRFloortime; Developmental, Individualized, Relationship-Based play therapy originally designed for children with autism, but a wonderful play-based approach to support self-regulation, Functional Emotional Developmental Competencies (FEDCs), parent-child relationships and self-regulation, critical to lifelong development, learning, and well-being. Children, youth, and adults with mental wellness needs -Psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, maladaptive coping strategies like issues with food, substance use etc., and overall mental wellness using an approach guided by Regulation Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, and Self-Reg. Coming Soon -The Safe and Sound Protocol for improving vagal tone and enhancing social engagement
