About
Dr. Stacey Schell is a registered Clinical Psychologist, who received her Ph.D. from the University of Guelph in 2014. She works with children, adolescents, and their parents, as well as with adults. Her approach is collaborative, client-centred, empathetic, and warm, and she emphasizes individual strengths and autonomy, while also providing the necessary structure to allow for change. Having a background in motivational interviewing, she is particularly skilled in engaging clients in the treatment process and helping them build and maintain motivation for change. Dr. Schell has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health difficulties, including: emotional dysregulation, trauma, mood, anxiety, suicidality and self-harm behaviours, substance use, behavioural difficulties, and eating issues. She has training and experience in several evidence-based treatment modalities, but works primarily from Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches, most often combining mindfulness, cognitive, and behavioural strategies to help clients reach their goals. Outside of work, she spends most her time reading, writing, staying active, and being outdoors with friends and her dog.
