About
I’m Jayla, a Registered Psychologist based in Cochrane, AB. I am passionate about mental health, well-being across the lifespan, and the field of psychology as a whole. I offer therapeutic counselling and consultation services to those experiencing challenging life events and for those who want to find meaning and contentment in their lives. Overall, my aim is to help you heal, honour your authentic voice, and explore what you need to thrive. Sessions will help you unpack and reorganize how you understand yourself, the circumstances around you, and what you need to navigate the stuck spots. Counselling can support your ability to experience a greater sense of well-being and find the resilience you need to shift your life forward. When working with children and youth, my goal is to facilitate the understanding of challenging behaviours, thoughts, or emotions, and implement positive and healthy coping tools. I also provide psychological assessment services, such as psycho-educational assessment, that can help you gain understanding of your (or your child's) unique set of strengths and limitations and can determine eligibility for additional support services. I find it very important to balance both acceptance and change in the therapy process, so that clients feel understood, while also gaining the skills needed to make real shifts in their lives. I pride myself on being authentic and transparent throughout the therapy process, and value collaborating with individuals to determine goals and develop the necessary skills to help harness their capacity to overcome challenges.
