About
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, and my goal is to create a space where my clients feel safe, accepted, validated and supported. Therapy is tailored to each individual's needs, goals, and values. The main types of therapy I use in my practice are, DBT, CBT and ACT.
Through therapy, you can learn to understand and cope with difficult emotions, problem-solve challenging situations, change ineffective behaviour patterns, gain new perspectives on your thoughts, strengthen and build meaningful relationships, and forge the path towards the life you want to live.
Individual Therapy
The therapy styles that I use are evidence-based and are supported by empirical research. These styles include Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These styles allow me to balance my client's goals towards change and acceptance.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
DBT is a style of therapy that balances the ideas of change and acceptance and helps clients work towards creating a life worth living. It emphasizes validation and includes acquiring skills from the areas of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Eating Disorder Treatment
Eating disorder treatment includes strategies from DBT, CBT and ACT. Therapy is tailored to the client's individual needs and goals. Additional philosophies that inform my practice are the Health at Every Size paradigm, mindfulness and intuitive eating principles.
